10 Great Examples of High Quality Landing Pages

10 Great Examples of High Quality Landing Pages

Let’s face it: there are a lot of bad landing pages out there. There are landing pages that bury the call to action beneath the fold, landing pages that rely on old, clunky design practices and pay no mind to the way users actually navigate a site, and landing pages that just leave us scratching our heads.

The following 10 landing pages do not make any of these mistakes. Actually, they know full and well their lead generation role as a company’s first and most important opportunity to articulate the what, how, and why.

10. Club Divot

Why This Site Makes the List:

Here Divot recreates the field on the page, bringing instant relevance. The call to action, “Play More Golf” is bold and clear, and the designers have done a good job of whittling the service down into its three main components. There’s a great image to text balance, featuring both the actual product and the device on which the product will be used. Sure, the call to action (CTA) is below the fold, but by the time we get there, the copy and design have already done their work.

9. Foodzy

Why This Site Makes the List:

Because it’s adorable. The vector images are new, interesting, compelling and directly related to the site’s purpose, name and off-beat voice. The CTA appears above the fold, as do social media buttons. The only thing that could be improved here would be enlarging the explanatory text and being a little more specific about what it is the service does. In fact, if you check out the full launch of their site, the banner text and images break the service down into three, clear steps, much like on the Divot site.

8. Oprah Sweepstakes

 Oprah

Why This Site Makes the List:

Though this site could have a clearer CTA, the sharp image is enticing, featuring the powerful Oprah brand through Oprah herself. The prizes are clear and intriguing, and it’s easy to sign up. Plus, sweepstakes are just inherently good for lead generation, because, you know…it’s hard not to want to join Oprah on the beach and follow her loyally thereafter.

7. Bundlr

Bundlr

Why This Site Makes the List:

Bundlr is a bookmarking website that does a couple of things right by: drawing the eye to an interesting and relevant photo; employing a clear, succinct CTA. It’s also easy to discern from the side bars whether or not it is directly relevant to you. That’s instant understanding, and instant sign up.

6. Shopify

Shopify

Why This Site Makes the List:

It’s hard to make such a long page work, but Shopify does makes it work. The video attracts the eye and does a good job of quickly and effectively breaking down the necessary information. The language is positive and uses active words that will motivate users into action. The CTA is clear and ideally positioned, with all of its supporting information easy to access.

5. UPS

UPS

Why This Site Makes the List:

Aside from explanatory video content and a clear way to engage, this page does a good job of featuring the human element. What’s more, clicking on the speakers launches modal dialogues, which keeps users on the page. And the longer users stay on the page, the more likely they will be to convert.

4. Google Engage

Google Engage

Why This Site Makes the List:

It’s Google. They invented A/B testing. You can see this in the easy to spot sign up button on the right hand side of the screen, in the engaging, image-based video in the middle of the page, and in the detailed but easy to read bullets above and below. This landing page takes a complex subject and breaks it down to its essential, compelling parts.

3. Groupon

Groupon

Why This Site Makes the List:

Groupon’s clean, colorful and pared down landing page keeps things simple and intriguing. The promise of 50% to 90% savings paired with the city name makes the site personally relevant (though it would be even better if they told us on just what we’ll be saving 50% to 90%). This site withholds just the right amount of info, keeping the mystery alive without being annoying.

2. The Future of Marketing

Future of Marketing

Why This Site Makes the List:

This site is drowning in social proof (in a good way). Knowing that industry experts, with whom we’ll better connect thanks to their pictures, are actively engaging with the site will mean conversion mania. Also, the CTA is insightful, clear, engaging, and repeated throughout the site, and the sign up list is ready to go.

1. Ben the Bodyguard

Ben the bodyguard

Why This Site Makes the List:

It’s not often that a site can feature so little copy on their landing page without sacrificing a user’s understanding of the service. But Ben the Bodyguard does it just fine. The character’s illustration and name embody the company’s mission and tone so well, that all we need are a few keywords to solidify our understanding of the site’s purpose. Then, without any fuss, we know how we can connect. This site is like Ben himself: clear; concise; effective; awesome.

So there you have it: your top 10 high quality landing pages. Some entice, some educate, and some threaten to kick the wind out of your enemies. Different approaches, to be sure, but all effective and all inspiring.
