Web Design Inspiration – Texture Must-haves
Seeing as last time we talked about patterns, I though I would continue the discussion and show you today some awesome textures that can prove useful in almost any design project. I’ve rounded up the basic ten textures that practically pop up around you, everywhere you look. I think the environment surrounding us can be the best inspiration sometimes, so let’s see if these illustrations can make you agree with me.
I think we should begin with some essential elements that make for some really necessary texture packs: paper, concrete, wood, stone, earth cracks and water splashes. You can see I’ve basically chosen primordial themes that will surely, at some point, become a part of your creative flow.
Next, I thought we could look at some modern and also vintage textures that can be quintessentially used in the textile industry, wallpapers, some really special backgrounds and other online projects.
You didn’t really think you could escape denim when we’re talking textures, did you? I’m sure that everyone is a fan of this fabric, even if just occasionally.
To top things off, this is an example of some awesome vintage patterns, with which you can never go wrong. They’re appropriate all year long and the best part is that they’re also free!
I tried to find textures that would inspire you and leave you wanting more. In the hope that I’ve succeeded, tell me which was your favorite?
Very handy indeed thanks, mixing textures into flat colours adds a lot to a design.
