Football vs. Soccer

There is an age-old battle between soccer and football. The supporters of each sport know what I’m talking about and although I would love to settle it once and for all, I will resume to revealing some interesting statistics today. The last World Cup was watched by 700 million people, while the Super Bowl had 111 million viewers. Despite these numbers, the average cost for a 30 second commercial during the World Cup was $250 000, while for the Super Bowl it was $3 million. Impressive, huh?

No matter their origins or customs, I believe sports are a healthy hobby to have. Whether you enjoy taking your bike for a spin, playing a game of basketball with your friends on the weekends or watching all of your favorite team’s games, it’s always nice to be passionate about something.

There are also some sports such as wrestling or sumo that are considered violent and thus, are not tolerated or enjoyed by the entire population. Nevertheless, they attract significant crowds and deserve to be mentioned among the most popular pastimes.

Sports and advertisement

As many other design related things, sports illustrations can also be found in the advertisement business. The most famous athletes practically have their own brand and advertisement companies usually ask them to endorse their products. Thus, they kind of lend their image or associate it, if you will, with certain powerful products on the market.
