1. Fuzel
Fuzel is a collage app that can be downloaded for free. It is brought to us by the guys and girls over at “Not A Basement Studio”. It requires iOS 7.0 or later, and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. But to be honest, this app is primarily optimized for iPhone 5. The really great thing about Fuzel is that it sets your photos in motion, and adds music to them.
You can choose background music from your iTunes library and you can blend them with its incredible feature of automatically detecting the songs beat so you can have a nice layout. And of course you can share your edits with your friends – compatible with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, Tumblr and many others
2. Doodle Buddy
“Doodle Buddy – Paint, Draw, Scribble, Sketch – It’s Addictive” is their slogan, and let me tell you that they are incredibly right. This really great free app is tons of fun. It requires iOS 3.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and the iPod Touch. You got funny sounds that are paired with stamps, a text tool with a resizable text and four fonts, you can share your doodles on Facebook, you can compete against other users that are connected to the same WiFi network as you are, you also got a text chat so you can give feedback.
Well, you are probably saying to yourself that you suck at drawing, and you won’t need this app. You are wrong. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to draw 6 sticks and a circle to make a basic stick figure – it is that user friendly.
3. Ruler Plus
Ruller Plus is a free app from developer “ Bannas Design”. It requires iOS 2.0 or later, and it is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. It is just a simple ruler that can help you measure things. Don’t expect it to be anything else rather than a ruler, because it won’t be.
You are not downloading Angry Birds or some other game. This is just a simple ruler that supports centimeters/ millimeters and inches – “Just because your iPhone is small doesn’t mean it cannot be used to measure longer objects.“
4. FX Photo Studio
FX Photo Studio is free for a limited time, so get your copy quick! If you miss it, it will cost you about 1.99$, but it is totally worth it. It requires iOS 4.3 or later, and it is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. This app has been primarily optimized for the iPhone 5.
With FX Photo Studio you can apply and mix over 190 photo effects, such as: Lomo, Sketch, Vintage, Art, Grunge, 3-D, B&W, ColorStrokes, Cross Processed, Textures and others. You can also adjust gamma, saturation, contrast, hues, exposure, and you can add your own watermark. You can also share to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr and other social media platforms.
5. Layers
Layers is a great app that allows you to add up to five layers per drawing. It costs 4.99$ but I highly recommend it. Layers requires iOS 5.0 or later, and it is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. This app is also optimized for iPhone 5. It is brought to us from developer Benjamin Gotow.
It has features such as: a clean and intuitive painting interface, two fingered pan and pinch to zoom, double-tap for quick zooming, ten high quality brushes, full featured eye dropper tool, full support for brush transparency and many others. “The UI for these functions is clean and easy to use; some forethought and refinement obviously went into the development.” – ARS Technica
6. PicLab HD
“PicLab HD is a powerful design studio in the palm of your hands.” – those are true words my friend. From developer Roberto Nickson, PicLab HD is one brilliant little app that allows you to create beautiful photography. You can add text to them also, artwork, you can use photo filters, play with adjustments and many more features.
It is not free though, it will cost you about 1.99$ for your own copy of the app. It requires iOS 6.0 or later, and it is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. It is also optimized for iPhone 5.
7. Strata
Strata is a mix between a challenging puzzle and a beautifully designed game. Strata is really user friendly, so don’t worry if you fear puzzle games. The beautiful flat design makes you want to reach inside your device and put the patterns all over your walls.
You will have to cough up 2.99$ for this great app. It requires iOS 4.3 or later, and it is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. It is also optimized for the iPhone 5. Strata was nominated for a Unity Award in 2013 for the Best 2D Visual Experience. I highly recommend you trying it, and you will also come to the conclusion that it is – “A simple, yet addicting game for any age.”
