24 Outstanding HDR photos of people

HDR or HDRI is an acronym for High Density Range Imaging and it refers to a set of techniques that allow a greater dynamic range of luminance between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than standard digital imaging techniques or photographic methods.

HDR images allow to more accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight. I’ve made a collection of some amazing examples of HDR images and I want to share them with you.

  1. The problem with this post: at least half of the photos here are atrocious. I’d hardly classify this collection as “Outstanding.”

Here’s the thing. HDR isn’t intended for portraiture. It burns out the skin tones, creates dark and ugly artifacts, and is just ugly.

Can we just agree to use HDR for landscapes and urban scenes? This is the primary way I post-process images with the HDR technique.

  2. simply disgusting… these photo are HORRIBLE!!!
get a book and start reading about photography!
